I can’t believe it took this long to get here, but those of you clamoring for a sequel to Sunsets of Tulum can breathe easy now. Celadon is here. It’s not a sequel per se, but if my debut novel explored what happens when someone always on the sidelines of life finally decides to leap in, this new novel follows someone who fearlessly plunges in…only to realize afterwards how strong the currents are and how irrevocably his life will change. Like its predecessor, Celadon is also a dark love story, following an old man looking back at things in his life that he didn’t understand before. As with my first novel, this one too has an enigmatic, beautiful girl at the center of it all.
EDIT: Here’s a fun video of me reading a bit of the beginning for you at the book launch party:
It’s again, a work of Destination Fiction, this time taking the reader to southern Japan, where I lived for several years. As Nabokov says, a work of fiction is entertainment and nothing more, so one shouldn’t expect to learn from it; however, I’ve taken pains to make the details accurate, and as I was myself a fan for many years of making pottery, a lot of the ceramics details are true as well.
I can’t wait for you to read it. Pick up a copy anywhere fine books are sold, or grab a signed copy from me at my online store. I’ll get it right out to you!
Happy reading!
