Shingles, seagulls, salt, and sand: these are the things that define a visit to the Cape and somehow the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club manages to encompass all of these while adding a refinement and luxury that sets it apart from the competition. The gorgeous views of the sandbars and estuaries, the sweep of immaculate blue sky reflecting off the water of the bay, and the attention to detail all make a stay here worth every bit of the price tag.
I loved that the mini bar (above) had a top shelf selection of nips to choose from. The wine that came with the room was delicious; it tasted even better out on the 2nd-floor deck, overlooking the sandbars and blue waters of the bay. I loved that they made a perfect extra-dry martini when I requested one. And despite the luxury, the room still felt very much like home.
My room featured a palette of soft blues and sandy neutrals, reminiscent of the nearby beach. The large windows seemed designed for relaxation, as if they were inviting in the outdoors. The bed was dressed in crisp white linens and plush pillows that were hard not to succumb to after a long day exploring the Cape.
Attention to detail is evident throughout the accommodations. Wooden beams and crown molding add a touch of classic elegance, while modern amenities like a Nespresso machine and smart TVs provide a seamless blend of comfort and convenience. Some rooms feature inviting reading nooks with cozy chairs and soft throws, perfect for curling up with a good book or enjoying a quiet moment. The bathrooms — equally impressive — feature marble countertops and spacious walk-in showers adorned with high-end toiletries that certainly don’t disappoint.
What truly sets Wequasset Resort apart, however, is the way it manages to capture the essence of Chatham itself. From the framed local artwork to the subtle nautical touches to the stunning views from each and every window, the rooms tells a story of the region’s rich history and vibrant culture. Whether you’re sipping coffee on your private balcony as the sun rises or winding down with a glass of wine in the evening, the ambiance in the Wequassett Resort rooms makes it easy to immerse yourself in the beauty of Cape Cod…and yet still feel like you’re not far from home.
