Few things in my childhood filled me with awe as the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on the planet. While it does not breathe fire, its bite is so fetid that the animal’s primary hunting method is just to waylay its prey, bite it, and wait for it to die from infection. They are fascinating animals, the closest thing to a Tyrannosaurus Rex living today, and one of my top “Must See” animals. In 2018, I was lucky enough to see them. They were just as awesome in real life as they’d been in my imagination.
For those of you who know my YouTube channel, RayGoesTo, you’ll recognize this video. Unfortunately, because of the one image I used of a tourist who’d been bitten by a Komodo dragon while sneaking into the park by himself to avoid paying the park fee, YouTube deemed the video “unsafe for minors” and labeled it age-restricted. I find it hard to believe that kids can watch a hundred people get blown up or shot on primetime tv (and YouTube), yet somehow an educational video gets labeled as age-restricted. Utter hogwash.
In any case, here’s the full video, uncensored, for anyone to watch. And to see it on YouTube, you just have to log in (and be 18+). #eyeroll
